Evolutionary Fitness Resources

Ok, here are some resources you can get started with if you’re curious about how I lost 50 lbs over a summer:

Arthur DeVany was the catalyst to most of my research. I’ve been a member of his blog for a while (it’s a membership site at: http://arthurdevany.com/) and he gave me some things to seriously think about. He just released his book, “The New Evolution Diet” (it’s a good one).

I later came across Mark Sisson‘s ideas (through a ‘guest post’ on DeVany’s blog… I think). He runs a blog called “Mark’s Daily Apple” (http://www.marksdailyapple.com/), and have also published a the “Primal Blueprint” (it’s well worth picking up) and the “Primal Blueprint Cookbook”. He has a pretty good overview of this ‘lifestyle’ here: http://www.marksdailyapple.com/primal-blueprint-101/

Around the same time I read the book: “Good Calories, Bad Calories” by Gary Taubes as well, which gave a pretty strong case for why we should NOT follow the conventional American “healthy” diet.

In addition to this, I’ve read books by Dr. Michael Eades (beginning with “Protein Power“) and Loren Cordain (Paleo Diet is a good start).

Anyway… tons of resources and books out there if one is inclined to learn about what you eat on a day-to-day basis.
